Today we arrived in the beautiful city of San Salvador, which is translated to mean "Holy Savior". Around making it through customs, we met up with Gary, the Executive Director of La Casa de mi Padre, and Armando, our faithful bus driver. After a quick lunch at Wendy’s, which was the NICEST Wendy’s I’ve ever been in, we made our way to the hotel. After getting settled in, Gary and Armando picked us up once again and we made our way to Gary’s house. Once we arrived, we met Gary’s sweet family and a few members of La Casa’s staff. After exploring their amazing backyard (pictures below), we had a moment to sit and listen to how La Casa de mi Padre came to be and the wonderful miracles that are impacting the lives of the many children that call La Casa “home”. After our wonderful conversation, we were spoiled with authentic tacos that were absolutely delicious! Tonight was such a blessing for our group and the perfect way to start of this week. It was amazing to hear Gary's stories about the work that is being done in San Salvador...Holy Savior. Although our group is one piece to this puzzle, I know the Lord has us on a purposeful journey. Tomorrow morning we will attend Gary’s church and then finally meet the children we have heard so much about! Our group would like to thank each and every one of you for your constant support and prayers! Although today seemed extra long at times, we know the Lord has amazing plans for us while we’re here!
